Sampling gras with a Nobbe trier
Content
The most used sampling stick for seed is the Nobbe trier. Characteristically for this sampling stick is the lateral opening. Whilst the penetration with the sampling stick the opening is turned downwards so that no seed can enter. Only while withdrawing the sampling stick the opening is turned upside. The seed is now able to enter the sampling stick’s tube and can be collected at its end. Like with the canula- or hollow tube sampler we can also show with the Nobbe trier how the seed within a container behaves during the sampling. In contrast to the canula sampler the Nobbe trier’s tip pushes the seed aside. The penetration resistance has enlarged considerably in comparison to the canula sampler.
